Centennial Campaign Prayer
Loving God, we recognize that all good things come from you. We know that you have given us an abundance of gifts, not to hoard but to share.
You have blessed us personally. You have blessed our families. You have blessed our parish.
In thanksgiving, stir our hearts to be generous stewards of your many gifts. Help us to remember that the reason we exist is to point the way to you.
Kindly bless our Centennial Campaign and make it successful, for we place our trust in you.
We ask you to bless our endeavors to improve our parish so that St. Joseph Church may continue to make a difference in our lives, in our community, in our diocese, and in our world for many years to come.
As the psalmist of old once wrote, “Prosper the work of our hands for us. Prosper the work of our hands.”
(Ps 90:17)
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

PATRIS CORDE PRAYER
Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer,
Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
To you God entrusted his only son;
in you Mary placed her trust;
with you Christ became man.
Blessed Joseph, to us too,
show yourself a father
and guide us in the path of life.
Obtain for us grace, mercy and courage,
and defend us from every evil. Amen.
From the Apostolic Letter of Pope Francis on the 150th Anniversary of the Proclamation of St. Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church.

Welcome to Our Parish Community
Thank you for visiting our St. Joseph website. I hope that you will find the site inviting and informative.
St. Joseph Parish has been a part of the Springfield, Illinois community since 1875 and is still a vibrant faith community. The faith community is a very welcoming one. Our liturgy is prayerful and truly a source of nourishment for the community. Our commitment is to ongoing faith formation for all ages. We offer faith formation opportunities for pre-school children, children attending public schools, and teens. There are offerings for adults throughout the year as well as small church communities. Our RCIA process is a very rich resource for those looking into our Catholic faith. Our social ministry is a dynamic one, involving opportunities for the practice of charity and justice within our community and the world.
In Christ Jesus,
Fr. Manny
